This initiative, led by the CoCoSI Association, aims to create a space for empowerment, recognition, and visibility for this population and their rights.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,sans-serif\">The collective was founded in 2018 as a space for advocacy and recognition of LGBTIQ+ rights. Since its creation, it has worked to promote fair and equal relationships to eliminate exclusion resulting from prejudicial attitudes and society's failure to recognize diversity <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p><p>\n\n\n\n<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,sans-serif\">Within this framework, the Brisas del Campo Collective\u2014responding to the lived realities of LGBTI+ people in El Salvador\u2014has been driving initiatives to:\n\nAdvocate for respect of human rights,\n\nStrengthen technical capacities among key populations in rural communities of Caba\u00f1as, and\n\nConduct political advocacy to increase commitment from relevant government institutions to support our work with high-risk and highly vulnerable populations.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; text-align: justify;\">The Brisas del Campo collective has created a safe gathering space for all its members.<br> They meet monthly to:<br><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Learn about new topics<br>\u2022 Exchange personal experiences and life stories.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Build solidarity throughout the rural area of \u200b\u200bCaba\u00f1as.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; text-align: justify;\"><strong>How it works:<\/strong><br>The meetings rotate through different locations in the department, intentionally including participants from several municipalities.<br>Meetings rotate through different locations in the department, intentionally including participants from various municipalities.\nThis model has forged a uniquely diverse collective representing multiple gender identities, enriching discussions and creating an inclusive space open to:<br><br>\u2713 All LGBTQ+ individuals seeking community.<br>\u2713 Those ready to collectively advocate for rights.<br>\u2713 Allies committed to the population's struggle.<\/span>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,sans-serif\">Brisas del Campo: Community Education for LGBTQ+ Rights\nFounded in 2018, this collective has created learning spaces not only for its members but has also pioneered educational initiatives with:\n\u2713 Families\n\u2713 Community leaders\n\u2713 Partner organizations\n\nOur Focus:\n\nPreventing violence against sexual minorities\n\nPromoting respect for historically marginalized LGBTQ+ individuals\n\nAdvancing knowledge on gender identities and human rights\n\nMethodology:\nThrough participatory workshops and dialogue, we challenge discriminatory norms while equipping communities to become active allies.\n\nStrategic Partners:\nWith support from CoCoSI Association and ADES, we empower rural Salvadorans to drive positive change and join our collective struggle for justice.<br>With the support of the CoCoSI Association and ADES, who believe in the importance of working with communities to generate positive changes in the population and can be allies in our struggles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:11.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&quot;Arial&quot;,sans-serif\">Some of the collective\u2019s main efforts have focused on educating the population about respect for the human rights of the LGBTQ+ community. This has been carried out through advocacy activities such as community radio programs and social media campaigns; addressing various issues that affect the LGBTQ+ population within the social contexts experienced in El Salvador through community and departmental forums; and providing training on topics aimed at educating representatives of community structures.
